Our constitution has been revised and approved at the AGM of 4 September 2024, our objectives from the constitution are set out below, you can view our full document here

OBJECTIVES The WGAG, covering the area of Woodford Green, as displayed in Appendix 1 which includes parts of the London Boroughs of Redbridge and Waltham Forest, hereinafter be referred to as ‘The Area of Benefit’ has the following aims:

i) To stimulate public interest in The Area of Benefit, as well as creating a community spirit and atmosphere e.g. litter picks, community gardening, providing flower baskets & troughs, etc

ii) To promote high standards of planning and architecture in The Area of Benefit.

iii) To secure the preservation protection development and improvement of features of historic or public interest in The Area of Benefit.

iv) To investigate opportunities to benefit from grants etc which may be available in the Area of Benefit to fund Initiatives leading to the enhancement of the area.

In order to achieve these objectives, the Executive Committee (EC) may, under its agreed authorities -

Promote research into subjects directly connected with the objectives of the WGAG and to publish, both physically or electronically, the results of any such research as well as other information of interest to the WGAG and its members e.g. the annual newsletter.

Act as a co-ordinating body and to co-operate with local authorities, planning committees, sanitary, drainage and all other local and statutory authorities, voluntary organisations, charities and persons having aims similar to those of the WGAG.

Promote or assist in promoting activities of a charitable nature throughout The Area of Benefit hold meetings, lectures and exhibitions for the purpose of educating and informing public opinion locally

Raise funds inviting and receiving contributions by way of subscription, donation provided that the WGAG does not undertake any permanent trading activities in raising funds for its primary purpose do all such other things as are necessary and lawful for the attainment of the said purposes. ensure that the WGAG is run in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Commission in England and Wales and other regulatory or State Bodies with oversight over the WGAG’s activities.
